The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Energy Sector Lead to join our Global Trade & Commodities team. This is a senior origination role with end-to-end ownership of Trade Finance, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance, Inventory Finance and Structured Commodity Finance transactions across our Energy portfolio. If you are a relationship-driven professional with deep expertise in commodity and trade finance, and a passion for structuring complex deals, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact within a leading global bank.

What You'll Do

Origination & Execution

  • Lead the full sales cycle — from origination and structuring through to documentation and execution — for new transactions across the Energy portfolio
  • Drive inbound and outbound business development with Corporates, working closely with the CA-CIB global network
  • Actively promote and grow utilisation of established facilities through regular client engagement
  • Cross-sell across ITB and broader Crédit Agricole Group product lines

Risk & Credit

  • Manage the credit sanctioning process, including preparation and presentation of credit applications to the relevant ITB committee
  • Advise Coverage teams on proposed participation levels and transaction structuring
  • Assess transactions across structure, reputation, technical and operational dimensions
  • Ensure timely communication to the Credit Department of any changes in deal quality

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, target new clients in line with the business plan, and deepen penetration of the UK market
  • Engage with financial institutions, external legal advisers, trade organisations and Fintechs active in the Global Trade & Commodities space

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare half-year and annual forecasts; assist in budget preparation covering income, assets and expenses
  • Monitor monthly income against budget
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements, including the London Compliance Manual and Financial Crime Policy
  • Produce call reports and pitch documentation as required

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in Trade Finance, Structured Commodity Finance or a related product area, ideally with a focus on the Energy sector
  • Strong origination and business development track record
  • Excellent structuring and credit analysis skills
  • Ability to manage complex transactions end-to-end with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market developments, regulation and Fintech innovation in the trade and commodities space
  • Familiarity with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance framework
