Job summary

Paralegal or junior lawyer with experience of capital markets and ideally structured debt securities linked to credit, interest rates, FX and equities, including indices.  The position will report to the Head of Structured Products & Derivatives Legal (“SPD Legal”) within the Global Markets London Legal team and the successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst other matters, drafting final terms and working on automation, regulatory and other projects alongside day to day activities.

 

Key Responsibilities will be as follows:

 

· Provide support to the Head of SPD Legal, the Head of Global Markets Legal London, as well as other Global Markets lawyers in Legal.

· Draft documentation relating to structured securities issuance under the bank’s EMTN and Warrants Programmes, and, if appropriate contribute to the maintenance and periodic updates of the Programmes.

· Support the SPD Legal team on retail distribution matters including negotiation of Distribution Agreements with private banks, asset managers and other distributors of CACIB issued securities, and maintenance and updates of the Distribution Agreement templates and procedures.

· Support the SPD Legal team on projects eg working with IT and GMD on automation of legal documentation, implementation of regulation relating to prospectuses, derivatives and related matters.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

English (or commonwealth) or New York legal training and experience – paralegal/junior lawyer level of legal qualification.

Experience

Essential: 

Capital markets experience in a bank or law firm.

Desirable:

·  Master Agreement negotiations experience.

· Experience drafting EMTNs and/or secured notes, and updating issuance Programmes

·  Retail Notes issuance

·  Experience in derivatives
