Job summary

Summary of the position/scope of work:

We are seeking a talented Software and Applications Manager to join our dynamic Capital Market Department with Data and Regulatory Reporting Department.
The DATA and Regulatory Reporting section is responsible for the delivery and monitoring of various Pre & Post Trade transactional and End of the day Valuation/Collateral reporting covering various regulations - MIFID, SFTR, EMIR, APAC regulatory bodies.
At this role, you will be responsible for managing mission critical Data feeding and Regulatory Reporting applications teams. You will lead and develop a global team of application analyst programmers and support and Regulatory Reporting Functional analysts, ensuring the stability, performance and continuous improvement of production systems used by FO-BO Feeding Applications, Reconciliation systems and E2E Regulatory Reporting chains.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you will drive strategic initiatives focused on automations, operational resilience, and process optimization across the department. You will own the development and adaption of bespoke automation systems, leveraging your expertise in Python, Java, Shell Script, PowerShell and works towards transforming the Run the Bank setup to more aligned with best SRE principals.
As a manager, you will ensure the proper functioning of the team, promote continuous improvement, cooperation, and autonomy. You oversee removing obstacles from team roadmap. You will be the main point of contact for the Product Owners and Business users. You will oversee and support the team on achieving its objectives on both automation delivery of software libraries and its production stability within the organization.

Scope of duties:

As the team head of Data and Regulatory Application and Production sub-division, you will manage a global Team with aim of


Application Operation production [E2E Regulatory Reporting & Data Feeding]: playing a pivotal role in production stability and evolution of production support into a robust operational architecture for risk division.
Application support strategic initiatives and solution development to improve the day-to-day efficiencies and stability.

Support Lead Role

Manage Daily IT Production
Oversee the day-to-day operations of supported applications, ensuring that they function smoothly and efficiently.
Steer daily production status by ensuring Incident/ Request/ Problem management processes are well applied as per ITIL standards of the Bank.

Ensures Production Resiliency
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and work on long-term solutions to prevent recurrence as part of Problem Management Process.
Manage shifts, on-call coverage and support during weekends and special business activities.
Oversee change management process, ensuring application releases are done smoothly.
Responsible for DRP / BCP exercise execution and success

Supplementary Information

Regular Review/Audit of system performance, application usage, and capacity to ensure that resources are optimally allocated.
Anticipate future application needs and proactively recommend solutions to handle growing volumes of data or users.

Primary IT Production Contact
Serve as the point of contact for escalated or Major Incidents by coordinating with internal teams or vendors as necessary to resolve issues along with accountable for communication and resolution efficiency.
Define and track service level agreements (SLAs) for application support, ensuring that performance metrics and client expectations are met.
Produce and present regular reports on application performance, incident resolutions, and service levels to senior management.

Coach the Support Team & Community
Manage and mentor team(s) of application support analysts and specialists, ensuring effective and efficient task allocation.
Standardize support practices across the teams within the department.
Shape the career progression of support analysts, guiding them towards automation, DevOps, and Site reliability engineering roles.
Represent CMI support perimeter in global and regional support communities.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge-sharing frameworks within the team.

Team Staffing and Onboarding
Participate in hiring of appropriate candidates for open positions in the department.
Provide training and guidance to team members on application functionalitie

Required skills


Technical
·         Good knowledge in Linux/Unix, Middleware (MQ Series, Kafka), File Transfer (CFT) and batch/Job Scheduling (Control-M), Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow.
·         In-depth understanding of SDLC.
·         Good hands-on experience in RDBMS and NO SQL DB’s (Mongo DB).
·         Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell script, PowerShell, SQL…)
·         Experience with monitoring, logging & telemetry tools like Elastic Search, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, AWS CloudWatch, SolarWinds, Nagios.
·         Good experience on BI Tool (preferably Power BI).
·         Hands on experience of Cloud platforms and services.
·         Experience in DevOps tooling (GIT, Maven, Ansible, Bamboo, Run Deck).
·         Working experience with any containerization platform like Docker Swarm & Kubernetes.
·         Experience in managing application hosted in On-Premises/Cloud environments.
·         Good Understanding of Monolith as well microservice application architecture.
·         Experience of supporting low latency systems like electronic trading platforms.
·         Mandatory prior development experience in .Net / Java or any Scripting language.


Technical skills required

Functional
·         E2E Knowledge of Capital Market Regulatory Reporting frameworks to support reporting related to MAS, HKMA, MIFID, EMIR, CFTC, DFA, SFTR, MMSR regulations.
·         Good understanding of market abuse regulatory framework and experience working with market Data providers like Bloomberg, TRTH, Tradeweb etc.
·         Knowledge of financial assets (FX, Structured credit, Swaps, Equities etc.) and overall understanding of trade lifecycle.
·         Experience in supporting capital market applications and trading systems.

Mandatory track record
·         Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial domain, preferable investment banking / capital markets.
·         Master or Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Computer Science/ Information Tech/ Electronics /Electrical and Electronics /Programming & Systems analysis.
·         Experience in people management with medium or large size team.
·         Mandatory Knowledge of Service Delivery framework adhered with Best ITIL Principles.
·         Knowledge and/or hands on working experience with emerging technologies – python, data analytics, cloud processing.
·         Certification in Cloud, DevOps, and Infra provisioning tools like Terraform.
·         Excellent communication, interpersonal and logical skills.
